Reno@Kim Keat - Concept

The current floorplan splits the private areas (rooms) into 2 zones with the living and dining in the centre. This would be perfect if the owners are looking into renting out the room nearest to the main entrance. However this is not so as the flat will house 2 adults and 2 children. Besides this separation, the current layout layout is also quite tight as with all other HDB layouts.

What we have envisage here is to provide the family with all the private areas into one zone, accessible via a small foyer space, create an extra room which can serve as an extension of the dining or a family area or even a study room. Both toilets are enlarged to allow comfortable usage of the bathrooms.

The dining and living is still kept as one space, strategically placed in the 'heart' of the flat, the children's rooms are placed next to one another, close to the master. And the kitchen maintains at the current location with direct access to the dining. The design aims to create more storage and more usable space for the family members without compromising on the work flow of their daily lives.
